Trying to conceive? Do these 5 things first!

Thinking about growing your family soon-ish, but unsure of where to start? I get it. There is SO MUCH information out there, and it can feel overwhelming trying to figure out what is fact, what is fiction, and what’s just a really well crafted social media post! Take a deep breath (and maybe a social media break). It’s not that complicated. There are so many simple things you can do to set yourself up for a healthy journey!

Start a high quality prenatal vitamin.

Many of the vitamins and minerals you use to build a human can be stored in advance!

Choose nutrient dense foods whenever you can.

Fuel your body with plenty of fruits, veggies, and lean proteins. Ice cream is also extremely important. Calcium and vitamin D, boo!!

Exercise!

Move your body in ways that make you feel strong and centered.

Get a checkup.

Schedule a preconception visit to make sure you’re in great health. Been thinking about switching providers? Now is a great time to make a move.

Do a little homework.

It’s never too early to start learning about pregnancy, birth, and parenting. Pick up a book or 2 at the library (or come visit my FREE lending library for some great ones!). If you’re a healthcare provider, use some of your required CME hours to learn more about pregnancy and birth!

Healthy choices now can mean a healthier pregnancy later! Need some help getting started? Schedule a preconception visit with me to start building your village and getting your ducks in a row. Let’s do this!
